Why Heat Pump for Drying

Heat Pumps have many advantages over other drying systems.

Efficiency

Heat Pump Driers work on a closed system. Air is re-circulated through the drier. Each time it passes, water is removed from the air and the air is reheated using the heat recovered from the water, and energy from the compressor/s and fans. No heated air is lost to the atmosphere, and no extra heat is needed. As Heat Pumps transfer more energy than is required to run the compressor, (up to 6 times more) Heat Pumps are extremely efficient.

Not effected by the Environment

Heat Pump systems are a closed system and are unaffected by outside influences, so problems that plague other types of driers like Cold Temperatures and High Humidity have little to no effect.

Heat Sensitive Products

Heat Pumps Driers dry from a combination of heat, airflow and low humidity. As the environment is enclosed and no external moisture gets into the drier, drying temperatures can be very low, even as low as 20°C. At these temperatures, the drying ability comes from low humidity and airflow. Products that are sensitive to heat can therefore be dried without the damage that elevated temperatures would cause.
